With 20 years in the nail industry and 18 as an educator, Gel II’s So Yong Yu says this journey is one she will “cherish forever.” As lead global educator for Gel II, Yu is a familiar face at trade shows and for live demos. The Killeen, Texas-based tech recreated one of her signature salon styles using Gel II 4D Sculpting Gel

Here are Yu’s steps for getting this month’s cover look:

 -

1. Sculpt nails using 4D Sculpting Gel.

 -

2. Create pink-and-white and marble looks using Gel II 4D American French Pink and 4D Extreme White on ring and index fingers.

 -

3. The middle finger was created by layering Mylar pieces in the 4D American French Pink, giving it a 3-D look and feel.

 -

4. Use 4D American French Pink and Gel II No Cleanse Top Coat to create pinky nail. Sprinkle sugar glitter and cure. Finish the index and ring fingers with opal stones as accents.
