Nail technician and company founder Tammy Taylor has composed her response to California Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom said last week that the first community case of COVID-19 came from a nail salon. This statement has sparked outrage within the indsutry, with many asking for proof and more information.
Taylor posted her open letter to her Facebook and Instagram accounts. "You have slandered an entire industry with zero evidence," says Taylor. She also references an LA Times article from January stating that the first California cases were traced to travelers coming into LAX from China. Taylor informs the governor about the sanitation efforts industry professionals undertake. She ultimately asks that Newsom take back his statement and not make a smiliar one without proper evidence.
Taylor's letter comes after Mayor Tri Ta issued his letter on behalf of the industry last week.
